Well the rain departed Saturday morning and our points event was on.

We had 16 participants registered to drive and all were eager to see what the organisors had install for them.

Craig Parsons - read out the rules and took all the particpants for a quick 3kms hike through all the obstacles, explaining the do's and dont's and pointing out potential pitfalls.

The Marshalls were all positioned at the 8 Gates and the event started. It did not take long before the partcipants were well into the event. Mistakes were made at various gates where partcipants had forgotten some basic 4x4 rules.

Gate 6 Marshalled by Ashley caused the most damage in terms of point scoring where if you got it right you would earn yourself 120points.

Gate 8 was through the mud and those less daring chose to skip Gate 8 and take a 0 instead of potentially damaging their vehicle.

Most vehicles and drivers made it through the 8 obstacles without incurring any damage. One of the particpants did manage to lose some plastic off his vehcile and lose a tyre off the rim in obstacle 8 but is was more of spectator value. Botie - Nico did manage to spray our photographer Lee-Zanne in Obstacle 8.

We all finished up - collected the poles and headed off to MMC for a well deserved Braai.

I would like to thank the 4x4 Committee members who put in all the time and effort in assisting with the setting up of the event and for Marshalling on the day. We spent the Friday afternoon beforehand cutting and building the various obstacles.
